"Painting has been at the heart of Jeanne’s life since the 1980s. Working almost full time since the year 2000, she draws inspiration from nature, light, and the creative process itself.
Beginning with realistic paintings of nature and portraits, she developed a strong technical foundation before evolving toward an expressive style that blends impressionism with abstraction. Mentored by accomplished artists Deborah Czernecky SCA, Marissa Sweet SCA, and Brian Smith AOCA, JANO has developed a distinctive artistic voice.
Working with knives or brushes, she seeks not simply to depict a scene, but to capture its atmosphere and emotional resonance. Her work has received numerous awards, and is represented in private collections across Canada and Asia.
For this year's Studio Tour, JANO presents a retrospective spanning four decades of artistic exploration. Visitors are invited to discover the evolution of her work, meet the artist, and experience the stories and passion behind each painting."
