"Fulfilling a `bucket list’ commitment to learn silversmithing was all it took to ignite Vicki Jasperse’s passion for creating one-of-a-kind art jewellery.
Vicki’s work re-imagines world design traditions and art genres, and brings them to life in sterling silver, jeweller’s copper and brass through the techniques of metal etching, fusing, fold-forming and piercing. Her original art jewellery etchings are individually hand-drawn and coloured, and a conservator’s wax is applied to the finished piece to preserve the patina.
The unique and evocative semi-precious stones Vicki sets in her jewellery pieces are hand cut and polished by members of the Ottawa Lapsmith and Mineral Club.
