Catherine Lalonde

Oil, Watercolour, Pysanky

"C.V. Lalonde was born legally blind and raised in Southern Ontario’s SD&G region. After undergoing three corrective eye surgeries by the age of eight, her love for storytelling and the arts blossomed. She attended a vocational high school, focusing on Arts and Computer Science, where she also worked as an assistant curator at a local art gallery and set designer for the community's Art Space.

She pursued higher education in Graphic Design Production at Georgian College, followed by Animation and Advanced Multimedia at Algonquin College. Her creative skills led to a fulfilling career at the Museum of Canada as a UX designer, then as a fine arts teacher, graphic designer and fresco artist. After years in the visual arts world, C.V. funneled her storytelling passion into writing, creating The Journaled Adventures series—a project aimed at helping children navigate social challenges through the power of family, community and the love for the world around them."
