"Laura Stevens is a contemporary wildlife artist from Eastern Ontario, Canada. Drawn to abstraction, she follows her innate desire to simplify the animal into geometric forms. Her work is driven by curiosity.
I choose to abstract the animal to its barest form. As a painter, it is my goal to catch the eye, and I am forever working towards discovering the barest form of the subject; What commands attention, while simultaneously eliciting an emotional response from the viewer.
Her artistic journey is a joyful one, the playful nature of her pieces shining through in every brushstroke. The paintings feature palettes which are beautiful to both the eye, and the heart.
Laura’s work can be found in both private and public collections throughout Canada."
